Graduation

You must complete an application to graduate from Century College by attending a graduation orientation or completing the online graduation orientation. After you finish the graduation orientation, you will need to complete an official application for graduation and a follow-up survey.

Graduation Checklist

  1. View and print your own degree audit or DARS.
  2. Verify your degree/major listed is correct.
  3. Verify the catalog year you are following.
  4. Catalog requirements older than 6 years cannot be used for a degree program.
  5. Technical credits older than 5 years cannot be used as career credit for a diploma or certificate, only as elective credits.
  6. Meet with a Century counselor and review your DARS report and discuss possible issues that may prevent you from graduating.
  7. Verify that transcripts from other colleges/universities you attended, if any, are on file at Century and have been evaluated.
  8. Ensure all academic petitions are the same catalog year and major as the one applied for.
  9. Make sure previous grades of Incomplete are now graded correctly.
  10. Confirm that your account is paid-up to ensure awarding of your degree document. Contact the Business Office at 651-779-3278.
  11. Complete a Repeat of Course form, if needed, and submit to the Records office. Repeat of Course form. (add link)
  12. Confirm completion of your internship to ensure your degree will be conferred.
  13. Apply to graduate by the deadline listed for each semester. Graduation applications should be submitted during your last semester at Century. Applications received after the deadline will not be processed for that term and will be moved to the next term.
  14. Complete the online Graduation Orientation or attend a live session in the Theatre on West campus.
  15. Print and complete the Graduation Application at no cost, along with the Pre-Graduation Follow-up Survey and bring it to the Records office.
  16. Know that your degree document will be mailed to you within 14-16 weeks after grades are posted. Within 6-8 weeks, grades are posted and you can view your degree notation on your transcript online at Century College e-Services. Refer to the Graduation Orientation regarding Graduation application processing timelines.
  17. Be aware that the college will notify you by mail only if you have not met program requirements. If so, you must reapply for graduation after you have resolved the issue(s).

Keep in mind that:

  • Diplomas and other correspondence are mailed to the address given on the graduation application form, and the name listed in the computer system, UNLESS a student change of information form (pdf) is submitted with instructions to change the “mail diploma to” address or student’s “name”.
  • You must provide valid identification (i.e. Driver's license, state identification card, social security card, or certified copies of marriage, divorce or court document) with the form.
  • Know that you can walk in the spring graduation ceremony even if you applied to graduate the previous fall semester or the current summer semester. Degree documents will not be distributed at the ceremony; they are mailed to the address on your graduation application.
  • Remember that any number of guests may attend the graduation ceremony in May at the Aldrich arena.
  • Purchase a caps and gown at the Century College Bookstore for approximately $25. Contact the bookstore at 651-779-3284.
  • Contact the Graduation Evaluator at 651-779-3294 if you have questions about Graduation Orientation.
  • Replace your degree document by calling 651-779-3228 and paying a $25 fee.
