Thank you for the handouts. I was impressed with the session. I really felt like I was in the right place. I keep being drawn to a career path that includes problem-solving and rampant curiosity. I have really enjoyed my science classes at Century, and plan to do more toward a more specific degree somewhere within the sciences. I will soon have an A.A. in the general ed's so, to me, coming back and doing more specific work (math and the sciences) would just be frosting on the cake. I am just about off the mommy track and feel I am about to fly!
I don't know how the instructor hiring process is done at Century, but I am continually impressed with every instructor I have either had or have come to know. Better check the chemistry of the water in the faculty lounge!

I've taught part-time many years at various schools and have never seen a day of this breadth and depth offered.

I believe that Student Success Day is a great opportunity for those who are in their first year of college like me. You know, teach us what we really need to know before deciding what is best for us. This opportunity gave me a chance to learn about what steps I need to get to my major.

It is hard to measure the feeling of the day—seeing students and faculty talking in their offices was an incredible feeling. It was a great community-building activity for everyone, not just the students. It makes you feel like this is a caring place that puts students first.

I have always had a bad time getting enough courage up to go and talk to instructors. The presenters said that teachers want to teach and are very willing to help students.

All in all, Student Success Day benefited me in many ways. It helped me find new ideas for service projects, taught me new ways to deal with stress, motivated me to take time for myself, and encouraged me to go after my dreams.
