Michelle Blesi

Program Director, Instructor

I am a Certified Medical Assistant with 14 years of experience in industry. I worked mainly in the family practice area emphasizing clinical and laboratory skills for 10 years and then changed my focus into leadership working as a lead in the Nursing/Lab department and as a Clinical Manager. I have a diploma in Medical Assisting and am certified. I also have a Liberal Arts degree and am currently working on a BA in Psychology. I plan to Graduate with this degree in the Spring of 2008. I completed the TES (Teacher Education Series) courses in the Spring of 2005 at the University of Minnesota. This included: Introduction to Vocational Teaching, Course Development, Instructional Methods, Philosophy and my final class, Student Training and Assessment.

I began teaching at Century College in 2001 as an Instructor and Program Director in the Medical Assistant Department. I enjoy being able to bring my career experience into the classroom and to make a difference in the students lives. In addition to being Program Director, I teach two Clinical courses, two Lab courses and Administrative Procedures for Medical Assistants both traditional and online.

Shari Lambrecht

Instructor

I attended 916 Vocational Technical College and received my diploma as a Medical Assistant in 1984. I was certified through the AAMA and have remained current through my continuing education. I worked in an ambulatory care facility as a Certified Medical Assistant for 23 years before coming to Century College. Fall Semester 2005, I started working in the Medical Assistant Department as a CLA. Spring Semester 2006, I became an Instructor at Century College teaching online and traditional courses in Clinical, Laboratory and Administrative Procedures.

I am a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, CPR certified and serve on the Advisory Committee Board for the Medical Assistant Program at Century College. I also currently instruct through the Continuing Education Customized Training Department, teaching a nine week Phlebotomy Technician Course during the summer months, and the Review and Exam for X-ray Operators throughout the year to students and other people in the community.
